I am a contemporary fine furniture craftsman who mixes classic technique and modern design. I take orders for original, custom made furniture which I design, in collaboration with the client, and build in my full-size woodworking workshop. –John A. Pennisi Jr.

John began in furniture making nearly 10 years ago at a small craft school in northern Vermont. It became an immediate passion. This led to varying woodworking-related employment, from lumber yard to retail hardwood sales and custom millwork, then to a full time employee at a production workshop building, transporting and installing high-end custom staircases. John completed the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship’s nine-month comprehensive course in 2010 and is currently taking orders at his full-size woodworking shop just outside Syracuse, NY in the village of Marcellus.
Recent work shown at FORM Design Show, St. Louis, MO, August 12-13, 2011 and in Rochester, NY at Shoe Factory Art Co-op’s Fall 2011 show “Once Upon a Coffee Table.” “Nautilus” cabinet featured on Custommade.com in “Seven Unique Custom Cabinets.” Current work on display at Skaneateles Artisans gallery and available for sale or customizable through process of commission. Please contact John to request a new version of an already made piece or to begin design on something new!
